Kindly join us on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 at 12 noon in 2115 Tawes Hall for a discussion on Drupal 8 Media Integration by Susanne Coates (ARHU).
Seamless multimedia integration is absolutely essential to the modern website experience. Whether it's simply embedding media in pages or building entire media-heavy, Parallax-style websites, it is imperative that the CMS provide developers a robust media API and content creators an easy to use workflow. Along with the many changes that have happened in Drupal 8 has come a complete re-working it's media subsystem. Capabilities that were in modules under Drupal 7 have already / or are now being- moved into core and Drupal 8's "everything's an entity" philosophy now encompasses media with the introduction of media bundles.
This 40 minute presentation will:
- Inform participants regarding the new structure for media in Drupal 8
- Provide an overview of the changes to the API and frontend
- Update on the current state of media-related contrib modules.
We will follow up with a 10min presentation of the Careers website https://careers.umd.edu and a 10min Q/A session.
